The City of New Bedford has roadwork sites for this upcoming week of July 26 – July 30, 2010 and they are as follows:

Site development and hauling at River Road

Pouring cement concrete on Kempton St between Chancery and Cedar St

Excavating roadway on Acushnet Ave between Logan St and Wamsutta St

Excavating and grading sidewalks on Logan St between Howe St and Acushnet Ave

Pouring cement concrete sidewalks and wheel chair ramps on Ash St between Morgan St and Court St

Greenwood St and Ruggles St demolition of houses

Excavating slip lining pits within the temporary work areas along the shoulder of Route 18 North Bound and South Bound from the Route 6 on – ramp, Route 18 South Bound to Elm St
(No Lane Restrictions)

 Hillman St on-ramp to Route 18 North Bound will remain closed
(Detour is South along MacArthur Drive)

Acushnet Ave will be closed between The New Bedford Career Center and the entrance to Whale’s Tooth Martha’s Vineyard parking lot.
(Detour via Herman Melville Blvd)

Construction of Grit Dewatering area at Herman Melville Blvd

Installing traffic signal conduits on Hawthorn and Rockdale Ave

Water Division:  The hydrant flushing program will be in operation from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday.  Due to opening and closing of gate valves and the reverse flowing of water, there may be temporary water discoloration.  Flushing will be in the area of Rivet St to South Rodney French between East Rodney French to West Rodney French  

NStar Gas installing a new gas main on Rockdale Ave and Dartmouth St.
