OPEN COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION
FIREFIGHTER - MUNICIPAL SERVICE

This examination consists of two components: the written examination and the Physical Abilities Test. Candidates must take and pass both components in order to be placed on the eligible list for appointment in a civil service city or town.

Resumes may be furnished for additional information only. Incomplete applications will be cause for rejection. The City of New Bedford does have a residency requirement. Employees are required to be residents of the City of New Bedford at the time of appointment, unless a specific waiver has been granted by the City Council with approval of the Mayor.
